SMS Innovative Mining are currently seeking applications for experienced Mining Supervisor working within surface mining operations.
The role of the Mining Supervisor is to provide leadership and direction to  their crew members in the safe achievement of mining and production targets.  Supervising a team of Mining operators in their daily activities, the Mining Supervisor will also assist in the development of production operators and the efficient operation of the Mine.
Job tasks and responsibilities:
  • Lead your mining crew to safely and efficiently deliver the production plan
  • Effectively conduct shift handovers, pre-start and toolbox meetings
  • Assess the training requirements of your team
  • Monitor and evaluate performance throughout the shift to identify variance from the production plan and act where necessary
  • Prepare accurate and timely shift reports
  • Carry out inspections and job observations
Skills and Experience:
  • Knowledge and experience in a line leadership role
  • Previous experience in open cut production mining 
  • Demonstrated technical skills in operating various heavy earth moving mining equipment
  • Section 44
  • Exceptional Safety leadership with an ability to identify and eliminate hazards in the workplace
  • Sound social process skills and the ability to effectively lead a crew
  • Demonstrated strong drive, energy and work efficiency
