Our new Property & Compliance Coordinator is based in our People, Culture & Capability team at our Bundaberg Operations Hub.

The original base of Best Practice Software, and now a major operational nerve centre for the company’s operations, our Bundaberg Operations Hub is located in the regional city’s Central Business District, on the central coast of Queensland, just four hours’ drive – or a 40 minute flight – north of Brisbane.

Bundaberg is an important provincial business, government and agricultural service city. Our facilities in Bundaberg form part of one of Australia’s largest health-IT campuses and includes three modern purpose-fit buildings accommodating a busy national support centre, and a variety of software development and commercial operations.

Role Requirements:

The role is diverse and will be responsible for several key inter-connecting functions for the business, which is divided into – Property (20%), Human Resources (60%) & Safety (WHS) (20%).

For success in this role, you will need to be:

  • self-sufficient and able to look beyond the industry standards to find the best solutions or ready to create new pathways;

  • a real people person with an uncanny ability to connect with people on a variety of levels and build trusted professional relationships;

  • a confident, fun and self-aware team player that is ready to share ideas and information for the better good of the team and business.

  • able to provide exceptional written and communications skills that lend itself to growing peoples understanding, rather than the dictation of protocols;

  • a (natural) coach like a person when engaging with others in the business;

  • ready to juggle different agendas and meet competing deadlines through high-level interpersonal, negotiation, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills;

  • comfortable with your own time management skills, as the functions in the role will require setting and prioritising workloads.

Our Property and Compliance Coordinator will need to be ready to create and implement the benchmark for these functions across the business. You’re ready to challenge, learn and grow as an individual to ensure that as a team, we’re not just going through the day to day motions.

Our Ideal Applicant:

Naturally, we’re after the best.  We believe our ideal applicant will bring the following attributes:

  • At least 3 years' experience in human resources, with demonstrated understanding of safety (WHS) and property maintenance;

  • Qualification in business, business administration, or human resource management, with the necessity to obtain a minimum Certificate IV or above in WHS as required by the business;

  • Familiarity with the legislative requirements and tasks to coordinate the effective planning and management of property assets; to establish organisational safety compliance and the delivery of generalist human resource management across Australia and New Zealand.

Human Resources:

  • Engage and develop strong relationships across the business, while assisting to drive the delivery of the People, Culture and Capability strategy;

  • Be proactively in team member engagement by providing accurate and timely advice on all people related matters including employment queries relating to agreements, minimum rights and standards, legislative compliance and industry requirements for Australia and New Zealand;

  • Advise, guide and conduct workplace investigations and employment relation functions’, including performance management across the business that encourages continuous development of a high performing culture;

  • Support our people with training and development needs ensuring compliance with legislative and industry requirements.

Work Health & Safety:

  • Be the Company go to in relation to WHS and look after the day to day safety function to establish a strong safety culture;

  • Ensuring safety best-practice is being implemented correctly throughout the business;

  • Conducting incident & risk assessments & gap analysis as required;

  • Taking a coaching role with team members to ensure the right training & systems are in place.

  • Fulfil the role of Chief Fire Warden and ensure other assigned team members are trained and capable;

  • Environmental scanning of the changing legislative landscape and the development and implementation of initiatives to mitigate organisational risk.

Property:

  • Ensuring the coordination of property services, repairs and replacements are completed in a timely manner;

  • Consult with key stakeholder and individual team members to obtain cost-effective and efficient outcomes that will meet the long-term business needs;

  • Keep consistent and compliant records of all external contractors, trades or suppliers, that will align with the businesses WHS strategy;

  • Build professional relationships in each office locations to ensure that the businesses property needs can be delivered in suitable timeframes.
