About the role

We are currently recruiting an experienced Drill and Blast Engineer for an impressive coal mining operation in regional NSW. You will provide technical expertise and valuable support to the technical services team and mining production activities through effective and safe planning and coordination of the sites drill and blast activities. The position offers genuine career development opportunities where you can play a key role in the success of this project.

About you

You will have a relevant drill & blast background coupled with mining engineering qualifications. Your focus on safety and continual learning will enable you to grow with this organisation and deliver against the business objectives. Ideally you will have 2+ years working as a drill & blast engineer in an open cut coal environment. Experience with related mine software is highly desirable.

Key duties and accountabilities:

  • Drill & Blast planning and coordination
  • Excellent communication skills between departments
  • Manage reports, identify improvements and cost savings
  • Ensure safety and compliance in mining activities
  • Provide technical support and advice 
  • Leadership skills and ability to drive outcomes
  • Openly communicate and liaise with mine planning and technical teams
