  • Multiple Full-Time Positions

ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY

SGS Environmental Services provides analytical testing, field-based measurement and sampling to a broad range of clients to address environmental regulatory compliance issues and reduce risk.

We currently have multiple vacancies for Laboratory Technicians/Chemists available for immediate start at our ISO17025 accredited laboratory at Notting Hill site. The laboratory is an advanced facility with LCMSMS, GCMSMS, ICPMS, conventional GLC, HPLC and supporting equipment.

Our projects are varied and demanding across a wide range of matrices including air, soil, water, medical, industrial hygiene and process samples.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

Your duties will include:

  • Undertaking sample preparation
  • Perform analysis of environmental samples of various matrices by GC, GCMSMS, HPLC, LCMSMS or other advanced analytical instruments.
  • Performing calibrations
  • Ensure testing methodology and quality control procedures are followed per SGS quality system and ISO17025 requirements.
  • Ensure all client requirements and deadlines are met and completed to a high standard.
  • Laboratory housekeeping is kept to a high standard to ensure safe and healthy working environment

 

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for positive and enthusiastic candidates who are committed to providing a high level of service to clients, as well as the following attributes:

  • Appropriate tertiary qualification in Science, preferably in Chemistry
  • A team player with the ability to work autonomously
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • A strong commitment to OH&S
  • Experience in laboratory operation, troubleshooting, knowledge of quality management systems and NATA requirements are advantageous for the senior roles
