Laurent Bakery has always been driven by love and respect for the craft of French artisan baking and exists as a homage to the values of a village bakery. 

In order to maintain our exceptional product standards and continued smooth running of our factories, we are looking for an outstanding and experienced Factory Manager, with experience in the Food/ FMCG sector.

As our new Factory Manager you will:

  • Drive and support current and future business growth, by being fully accountable for the manufacturing operation end to end  
  • Continually improve the development of the operations team, processes and efficiencies; enabling the broader business to achieve its strategic growth plans
  • Have the ability to increase the management team's effectiveness by employing innovative techniques across the team around communicating values, strategies and objectives, and assigning accountability to these

Your key responsibilities will be:

  • Responsible for the site operating budget and P&L, including all aspects of conversion cost and yield.
  • To improve on the culture, focus on team development in line with core beliefs of the organisation and to reinforce the sites' “can do” attitude
  • To provide strong, hands on leadership and have a history of proven senior management, especially around people and culture – developing incentives, open communication channels and cross training
  • To be able to meet targets in a dynamic and fast moving business by implementing plans, budgets and fluid metrics
  • To develop strong relationships with key stakeholders including internal senior management and board members
  • To lead and co-ordinate resources to ensure the site is run efficiently, including identifying and exploring new methods of operating; with a major focus on continual improvement
  • To ensure compliance with required Quality, GMP, HACCP, Hygiene and Food Safety policies
  • To design, write and deliver a process improvement program that will result in lower cents / kg costs from year to year
  • To scrutinize, review and adjust site Capital Expenditure plans that result in installing the highest efficiency equipment and processes within budgets and time-frames
  • To take responsibility for H&S focusing on LTI and Incident frequency reduction year on year
  • Custodian of the sites in-bound and outbound supply performance
  • To maintain your own professional and technical knowledge by attendance of educational workshops, reviewing industry standards and growing personal networks

This role is pivotal in allowing us to continue to provide all our cafés, customers and export chains with the bread that has made Laurent Bakery famous, Australian wide.
