Our client, Doherty Design Studio, are an award wining interior design practice who create tailored residential, retail, hospitality and commercial spaces throughout Australia.  Located in Hawthorn and working across 2 to 3 days per week, they are seeking an experienced Finance Manager to join their supportive, creative and collaborative team to manage the day to day finance functions of the business as well as assisting with various procurement and administrative functions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monthly client invoicing and payment of creditors
  • Following up outstanding payments over the telephone or via email
  • Payment of insurances, rent and staff reimbursements
  • Projecting and forecasting upcoming revenue
  • Reporting the state of any job profit and loss at any point in time
  • Month end reporting
  • Procuring furniture, artwork and lighting for various projects
  • Petty cash management and banking duties
  • Additional responsibilities as directed such as answering the telephone, responding to clients' queries, booking events and arranging travel and accommodation

Qualifications, Experience & Skills
  • Tertiary qualified in Accounting or equivalent would be desirable
  • Previous experience working in a similar role and having a strong interest in design or interiors would be advantageous, as would prior experience working in a Construction or Architectural firm
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office and Excel
  • Experience using MYOB is essential and DesignerLogic desirable
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Approachable and friendly
  • Problem Solving abilities
  • Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
  • Ability to organise, prioritise daily tasks and meet deadlines
  • Self motivated and results orientated
  • High level of confidentiality as well being honest, trustworthy and reliable
