Risk and Insurance Officer

The City of Launceston, an award winning Employer of Choice, is currently seeking to fill the following position:

Position Title:          Risk and Insurance Officer
Position Number:    POS0756

This permanent full time position is responsible for implementing and maintaining a risk management strategy and framework and managing the City of Launceston's general insurance policies and claims.

We are looking for someone who demonstrates, through behaviour, an alignment and an understanding of our values and has the following qualifications, skills and experience:

  • Relevant qualification
  • Experience working in the risk and insurance fields
  • Above-average ability to communicate professionally and empathetically with customers, both face-to-face and in writing
  • Strong technical skills with corporate software applications, particularly TechOne, Microsoft Word, Adobe and Excel
  • Ability to exercise initiative, judgment and discretion, often in a high-pressure environment
