DCJ performs statutory child protection functions and provides, co-ordinates or funds the provision of support services for vulnerable families, children, young people and communities in need.


About ISS 


There is one temporary opportunity in the Intensive Support Services (ISS) in Parramatta for a dedicated Customer Service Officer. 
ISS provides effective intensive and specialist casework services to children and young people in out-of-home care who have complex care needs. Services are aimed at enhancing safety and wellbeing, placement stability and the development and implementation of plans to transition children to less intensive long term placements or prepare young people for achievable post care living options.


About the opportunity


The primary purpose of this role is to provide front line services to the community from a local office (Community Service Centre or “CSC”). The role involves a range of client and administrative services that contribute to the effective delivery of quality services in a CSC. 


Customer Service Officers support the service delivery of the units administrative functions, financial support (processing payments in compliance with relevant policies, petty cash ect), supports casework teams with various administrative tasks that are sensitive in nature including taking detailed discussion notes in group supervision sessions, provides frontline client support via the DCJ reception, provides client support via switchboard duties and provides general office administrative.


This position would suit candidates with strong attention to detail who have had exposure with processing financials across various payment platforms whilst ensuring that payments are made in alignment with financial guidelines.


A Recruitment Pool may be created to fill similar roles for both ongoing and temporary opportunities if and as they arise.

Essential Requirements


The Child Protection (Working with Children) Act 2012 requires persons engaged in children related work to have Working with Children clearances. 


If successful in this role you will be required to provide a Working with Children Check clearance number before you start. To obtain further information and to apply for a WWCC clearance. Please click here.


Appointments are subject to reference checks and a National Criminal Record Check in accordance with DCJ policy and the Disability Inclusion Act 2014.


Valid driver’s licence and confident driving different fleet vehicles. The candidate may be required to travel, to the Bradbury (Campbelltown) office.
