Catering Assistant

Catering Industries is a leading provider of contracted hospitality services (catering, cleaning and laundry) to Australia's health and aged care, education, government, corporate and resources sector.  We currently employ over 1300 personnel across various operations nationally.
 

About the role

We are seeking a part time dedicated and experienced Catering Assistant to join the kitchen team at our client's aged care site located in Allambie Heights, within Sydney's beautiful Northern Beaches. 

The role is perfect for a student or parent looking for 16 hours per week.
Monday: 3pm to 7pm
Tuesday: 3pm to 7pm
Friday: 3pm to 7pm
Sunday: 3pm - 7pm

 

Skills and experience

  • 1+ year's experience in a similar role - aged care experience highly regarded 
  • The ability to support the chefs and the team in a busy kitchen.
  • Reliable and punctual 
  • Empathy and respect towards aged care residents, staff and clients 
  • Must have reliable transport.
     

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparing salads and sandwiches in the main kitchen
  • Meal set up and clear down
  • Prepare trolleys for meals to be served
  • Meal plating and service from various kitchenettes and serveries
  • Cleaning of serveries and kitchen area while maintaining a clean working environment at all times
  • Adhering to and completing quality assurance documents
  • Washing dishes, floors and other areas as scheduled
  • Assist the Chef and Chef Manager in preparation and service of food/beverages
