Iluka Resources is an international mineral sands company with expertise in exploration, development, mining, processing, marketing and rehabilitation. Our purpose is to deliver sustainable value for our employees and all stakeholders.

The Narngulu Mineral Separation Plant (MSP) based in Geraldton is one of the largest mineral processing facilities globally and the mineral processing hub for Iluka’s Australian operations. The MSP Plant is capable of accepting heavy mineral concentrate (HMC) feed stocks from various production sources, currently treating heavy mineral concentrate from the company’s Jacinth-Ambrosia mine in South Australia and Iluka’s new Cataby mine site in Western Australia.

Applications are invited for Shift Process Operators to join the team at Iluka’s Minerals Separation Plant based in Geraldton. We are looking for self-motivated people who are focused on undertaking safe and efficient operational practices in order to maximise production and quality of output.

About the Role

Reporting to the Production Coordinator, a key accountability of the role is to ensure the plant is operated safely and at full potential by:

  • Undertaking regular plant inspections and completing check sheets
  • Sampling process streams and reporting and correcting any production variances
  • Making plant available to enable timely and effective maintenance
  • Undertaking appropriate risk and hazard assessments to ensure safe working environment is sustained

  • To be successful in this role you will have:

  • High standard of behaviours that align with Iluka’s values
  • A demonstrated pro-active, no compromise approach to safety and environment
  • Good numeracy, literacy and computer capacity
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision as well as part of a small team
  • Demonstrated commitment to further training and skills development
  • Valid unrestricted driver’s license essential, HR license is desirable
  • Desirable, though not essential: Front-end-loader / Skid steer / Forklift licences

You will be well supported through our structured operator development program; therefore, previous experience in a similar role is not essential. This position will be offered on a rotating 4/4 shift roster, including night shift.  Relocation assistance is not available.
