About your new role
  
The Assistant Accountant will support the Accountants in preparation of management accounts for the properties under UniLodge management.  In a rapidly growing business, this role requires the successful candidate to deliver a consistent, accurate and high-quality service. 
  
This is a full-time permanent role and will provide growth and development in Accounting and professional skills, whilst gaining a thorough understanding of how a thriving Finance Department works.  The Assistant Accountant will receive hands-on training and development across the UniLodge Finance team.
  
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assist in month-end processing
  • Petty cash and corporate credit card reconciliations.
  • Accounts Receivable invoicing
  • External Arrears reporting
  • Assistance in preparation of budgets
  • Checking of online payments 
  • Provide cover for the Accounts Payable Officer and Trust Accountant, due to increased volume or absences
  • Administrative duties associated with the accounting role
What you’ll need to succeed
  • Experience in a corporate office environment (e.g. Junior Accounting role or Accounts Payable/Receivable) is desirable
  • Evidence of recently completed studies in a Business (Accounting) Degree with a GPA 5+.
  • Intermediate Excel skills, including formulas (pivot tables, vlookups)
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Be customer-focused and able to effectively communicate with our customers to resolve issues
  • Must be self-motivated, with a positive mindset, who listens and works well within a team environment
  • Ability to organise and prioritise tasks, ensuring both team and personal deadlines are met
  • Ability to provide evidence of a National Police Check
