We also operate field sampling services out of Melbourne and Sydney. We specialise in all areas of Environmental analysis, including Contaminated Soil, Sludge, Sediments, Leachate, Soil Vapour, Trade Waste Effluents, Sewage Effluents, Stack Emissions, Work Place Air, Ambient Air, Dust, Drinking Water, Surface Water run off, River & Stream Monitoring, Seawater, and Groundwater. 


Job Description

The role of Sample Receipt Officer within Darwin is currently vacant, and we are seeking candidates for this exciting opportunity.

The role of Sample Receipt Officer is responsible for performing the work of the sample receipt area and other specific duties such as ensuring procedures are followed where samples are collected and stored, chain of custody is followed (COC) and timely admission into the system. Liaison with sub-sampling staff is a must to make certain urgent samples are completed promptly.

The main duties for this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Sample Receipt & login– including storage of samples on arrival, and registration in LIMS

  • Checking registration against the COC and faxing COC back to clients.

  • Liaising with clients to ensure correct contract requirements.

  • Temperature charts & Biosecurity samples (according to Eurofins protocols).

  • Sample Management – good housekeeping practices.


Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of MS Word, MS PowerPoint and MS Excel
  • Basic understanding about Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS)
  • Existing knowledge of ‘Chain of Custody’ (COC).

  • The position is based in Winnellie, Darwin, Australia.
  • The position is a full time position.
  • The position is required to work Monday to Friday.
  • This position is only open to candidates that currently have working rights in Australia.
