Desktop Support Administrator

An opportunity has become available for a Full Time Desktop Support Administrator to join the Information Technology team at Australian Clinical Labs. Working in the company’s IT department you will be exposed to a full gamut of technologies including server and systems administration, networking, site visits, and supporting the company with break/fix support while being the escalation point for the service desk team.

You will be supporting almost 4000 staff across Australia and Malaysia. You will have proven hands-on desktop and administrative skills, providing excellent and professional customer service to staff Australia-wide.

This is a fast paced environment requiring excellent communication, administration, interpersonal and customer service skills as well as a specific range of Windows Server knowledge.

This role will require the candidate to be familiar within a Windows environment and will enable the candidate to continue developing their skills over time with supported training and exposure to Microsoft technologies.

The successful candidate will have experience providing technical support and imparting technical knowledge across a large organisation following ITIL methodologies. They will be innovative and ambitious and show a passion for technology and excellent customer service. The candidate will be technically minded with excellent knowledge of the Windows operating environment.

Knowledge of Citrix XenApp and XenDesktop, SCCM, Active Directory, Group Policy, SQL, Powershell scripting, and Linux operating systems will be beneficial, as would relevant industry certifications and a degree in IT.

Essential

  1. 5+ years’ experience supporting a Windows Server environment
  2. Demonstrable experience of working in a busy ITIL environment
  3. Ability to communicate solutions to customer problems via different methods of communication in a way which is appropriate to the recipient
  4. Experience administering or installing SCCM, AD, Group Policy
  5. Knowledge of Powershell scripting and automated tools
  6. Exceptional customer service skills – demonstrable track record of providing a friendly ‘can-do’ approach to resolving enquiries
  7. Experience working in a systematic, methodical and organised fashion, with the ability to recognise and take action when tasks need to be re-prioritised

  1. Scripting and automation
  2. Citrix XenApp and XenDesktop
  3. Dragon dictation tools
  4. Experience working within a healthcare organisation
  5. ITIL and industry certification
  6. IT related degree
