Public Programs Officer

The City of Launceston, an award winning Employer of Choice, is currently seeking to fill the following position:

Position Title:              Public Programs Officer

Position Number:        POS1494

In this part time position, we are looking for someone to collaboratively develop and deliver public programs and a range of educational programs using QVMAG Exhibitions and collections.

We are looking for someone who displays and shares our organisational values to co-ordinate all aspects of program/event logistics and evaluation including select key and partnership events.

Criteria for the role:

  • A qualification in Events/ Arts/Education related fields and/or a minimum 5 years’ experience working in a Museum, Gallery, Local Government or industry related to this position. 
  • High-level verbal and written skills and ability to deliver programs, events and presentations for a diverse range of audiences - onsite, offsite and online.
  • High level of interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with a variety of people at all levels within the organisation, public and private sectors.
  • Experience in researching, developing and implementing innovative public programs, events and resources for diverse audiences, preferably within a museum and gallery context.
