Assistant Accountant | 6 month contract

Our client is a large, market leader within the FMCG sector and due to a maternity leave cover the position of assistant accountant has become available (6 months contract). This business is experiencing steady growth year on year and stay competitive through an innovative portfolio of products. The opportunity will also give you exposure to some traditional cost and management accounting responsibilities to assist with broadening your skills. Working closely with the Finance Manager the main responsibilities will include:
  • Coordinate and prepare statutory financial reports for all entities
  • Assist managers with business reporting requirements
  • Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations
  • Assist with product costing to ensure accurate BOMs
  • Coordinate all tax returns in a timely manner with the Finance Manager
  • Assist with the preparation of the annual budget and rolling monthly forecast
  • Maintain the fixed asset register
  • Cash-flow reporting
  • Ad hoc reporting as required by the business
You will be working towards or completed your CA or CPA qualification and have worked in a similar position previously. Strong excel and exposure to a large ERP system will be critical to your ability to hit the ground running. You will be joining a supportive manager who will invest in your development and future growth.
