Position overview

You are a hands on UX/UI Designer with strong demonstrated experience designing world class mobile and web apps and a passion for design excellence.

Responsibilities include:

  • Creation of engaging, innovative, and measurable digital experiences (through sketches, wireframes, user flows, prototypes, UI design, brand materials and other design artefacts).

  • Strong commercial understanding and driving outcomes for our clients through world-class design.

  • Working with existing HCD and Agile methodologies and inject your own practices where appropriate to deliver customer insights through user and market research.

  • Translate customer and business insights into memorable digital experiences.

  • Validate UI designs using a variety of techniques, from ad hoc testing through to formal usability studies.

  • Integrating client feedback into UI designs.

  • Working and collaborating with development teams translating design and interaction requirements to front-end developers.  

Skills and experience:

  • Minimum 2+ years experience in UX/UI design or similar role (agency experience highly valued)

  • University Qualification in one of the following areas: Interaction Design/UX UI Design/Digital Media Design or Communication Design

  • A clear understanding of both the latest UX / CX principles and how to apply them

  • Practical familiarity with digital design principles and standards, with clear judgment/rationale for design direction (including responsive design).

  • Must have multi-format, multi-screen awareness

  • Knowledge of standards and best practices for UX/UI design for iOS, Android and web

  • A clear understanding of UI patterns, interaction paradigms and core online experiences

  • Advanced knowledge of Sketch with great file organisation and file hygiene

  • Proficient in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator with InDesign knowledge as a useful bonus

  • Knowledge of prototyping tools such as proto.io, Invision or others
