Accounts Payable Officer

Sydney Tools is a family owned Australian company which operates nationally. Sydney Tools was founded in 2001 and currently operates through an online portal and also a retail division spanning across 34 stores in New South Wales, Victoria, Queensland and in the Australian Capital Territory. Sydney Tools is one of Australia's largest wholesalers and retailers of power  tools, consumables and accessories. We supply premium quality products to all industries including the construction, civil, mining, agriculture and automotive. 

Due to our continued success and growth, we are seeking a motivated “Accounts Payable Officer”  to join our very successful “Finance Team”. Reporting to the “Team Leader of Accounts”  you will be expected to have excellent written and verbal communication skills, with previous experience in a similar role, within a related industry. 

Main responsibilities will include:

  • Entry of accounts payable invoices
  • Reconciliation of invoices/statements  
  • Accurate processing and data entry of up to 120 invoices daily
  • Payment run (EFT/cheque)
  • Attending to internal/external accounts enquiries
  • Involvement in the end of month processes

The successful candidate will have:

  • Previous accounts payable experience minimum 2 years
  • A good mind for numbers and attention to detail is a must!
  • Excellent communication skills, commitment to customer service and ability to meet strict deadlines
  • The ability to work autonomously when necessary and well within a team
  • Excellent attention to detail with proficiency in data entry and management
  • Intermediate to Advance Excel Skills are necessary
