Our client is a well-established organisation operating within value adding/fresh produce industry, is recognised within the market for strong quality, consistency and freshness. Their passion for fresh produce and unprecedented produce quality have delivered a strong growth over the years from a field-grown producer to one of the nation’s largest growers and fresh produce manufacturers.

With continued growth of the business, a new vacancy for Site Manager has been created. Leading the site steering team, this role’s main focus is to oversee the factory’s operation, paying particular attention to improving performance, productivity and efficiency in order to ensure that operational goals of safety, quality, cost and order fulfilment are achieved every day. 

Reporting to the Managing Director, the Site Manager’s responsibilities will include:

  • Leading, mentoring and managing the site steering team;

  • Developing and monitoring budgets, business plans and strategies to achieve operational goals;

  • Reviewing and evolving site KPIs, using operational data.

  • Overseeing manufacturing processes, developing and monitoring production plans to ensure daily DIFOT is achieved. 

  • Directing and monitoring the Quality Assurance team, ensuring compliance with both safe work practices and HACCP.

  • Efficient and immediate communication of changes to production plan to all stakeholders (e.g. sales, dispatch etc) 

  • Provision of support to the people manager with respect to training and the retention of training records

 

To be successful in this role you demonstrate:

  • 3 – 5 years’ experience managing fast paced manufacturing, preferably food manufacturing;

  • Methodical approach to problem solving and equipment fault finding

  • Current valid driver’s license, forklift license

  • High levels of verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills

  • Strong organisational skills including planning, scheduling and time management of planned production

  • Strong work ethic

  • Individuals with relevant tertiary education will be highly regarded
