Sales Manager

 

This position is responsible for all sales activity within one of our prestigious 5 Star Venues. This includes ensuring profitability is increased while establishing and maintaining continuity of sales service excellence.

This role is strategic in driving revenue for the venue and hands on in working closely with the sales team. It includes responsibility for training, coaching and developing team members to promote a more proactive and fully accountable sales approach with their managed and regular user accounts. 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Build the sales team and evaluate sales team performance (effectiveness) including monthly reviews and monitoring of sales figures - actual verses budget verses forecast - to ensure optimum performance of the team
  • Increase profitability in the venue, by overseeing all sales activity and managing the sales team
  • Recognise sales opportunities and offer effective solutions to venue clients
  • Measure and increase the success rate in confirming/closing sales across the region
  • Offer sales support, mentoring and guidance to the sales team
  • Promote the vital link between Sales, Base Operations, Styling & Design and work with the managers/sales team on the forecasting cycle and budget
  • Explore all opportunities to move a non contracted relationship to an exclusive or preferred supplier contracted relationship (when not in conflict with venue relationships)
  • Attend and present at venue partners/base promotional events
  • Attend and maximise sales leads at all industry and networking events
  • Assist in positioning Encore as a valuable and ongoing partner
  • Maintain an accurate and detailed customer relationship management system for the account portfolio

Essential selection criteria to be successful in this position are: 

  • Previous sales experience
  • Sound technical and event staging knowledge
  • Proven leadership qualities and people management experience
  • Financial management skills – sound understanding of cost control and budgeting
  • Ability to translate client requirements into job specifications
  • Client relationship management experience
  • Proposal writing skills
  • Effective negotiation skills
  • High level of computer skills
  • CAD qualifications and/or proven abilities
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines
  • Self drive and attention to detail
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Excellent decision making skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
