The Rookeepers delivers educational presentations in schools and kindergartens throughout Victoria with a huge range of Australian animals such as snakes, dingoes, koalas, crocodiles.. the list goes on. Our programs are delivered with the intention to get students connected with animals through hands-on, interactive learning.

We believe that ecological learning needs to be supercharged in order to save the best mother of them all.. mother earth. Help us on our mission to introduce students to Australian animals, ignite passions and start conversations that will impact the future of Australia. 

You will work as an ambassador to deliver any of our 5 programs including bees, marine life, reptiles, wildlife, and climate change incursions.

The successful applicant will be required to start from base in Mount Egerton and drive to Melbourne most days to deliver programs within schools. They will also be required to help out with the daily husbandry of animals.

What are we looking for?

- Auto or manual Drivers Licence (over the age of 21)

- Working with children check (can apply for this)

- Police Check (can apply for this)

- Bubbly Confident personality (Cant apply for this..)

- Preferred degree in science/zoology/conservation

- A grade public speaker is a must (List Experience if available)

Do NOT apply if you don't live in Victoria

- Must be flexible with shifts

Hours ( 30+ hours per week)

Working hours will vary and some days you will be required to start at 5 am, other days you could be required to work events at night, please also think about the distance you would have to travel each morning to base before you apply.


Successful applicants must live within close proximity to our base eg; Ballarat, Ballan, Bacchus Marsh, Melton, or be willing to relocate.
