Instructional Designer

Reporting to the Head of Training – Engineering, the Instructional Designer, and working with SMEs, will be responsible for the creation of a variety of online learning assets, face-to-face learning content and management of content on the Learning Management System relating to Cobham Aviation Services’ (CAvS) Engineering business unit. 

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Create engaging learning activities and compelling course content
  • Work with subject matter experts to identify training needs for the target audience
  • Set instructional end goals and create content that matches them
  • Analyse and apply trends and best practices in learning technologies and instructional design
  • Create supporting material/media
  • Devise modes of assessment
  • Maintain project documentation

 

Skills, Experience and Attributes

 

Essential

  • Tertiary qualification in Instructional Design or similar
  • Demonstrated experience working in instructional design
  • In depth knowledge of learning theories and instructional design models
  • Lesson and curriculum planning skills
  • Basic HTML programming knowledge
  • Visual design skills (Articulate, Camtasia, Photoshop)
  • Outstanding communication skills
  • Strong time management
  • Ability to travel domestically on occasions, if required

 

Desirable

  • Cert IV in Training and Assessment
  • Experience with Virtual and Augmented Reality
