Freight Analyst

 

Reporting to the Strategic Procurement Manager, the Freight Analyst role is responsible for the effective day-to-day oversight of Cobham Aviation Services’ (CAvS) freight related strategy and expenditure.  This role is also responsible for ensuring freight supply issues are kept to a minimum and the freight related invoice payment process is optimised at all times.

 

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Continuous development of freight network optimisation strategies aimed at delivering year on year cost savings and service delivery improvements
  • Reviewing and coding of all freight invoices, challenging costs where appropriate
  • Continuously reviewing freight invoice automation improvements with a view to establishing a compliant, user-friendly paperless process.
  • Leading all freight and logistics service contract opportunities and annual rate review negotiations
  • Development of organisational awareness and knowledge of CAvS freight strategy amongst all front line staff
  • Management of freight strategy delivery and training
  • Engaging freight suppliers and building strong relationships with account representatives
  • Escalating freight related supply chain risks to management for review and action

 

 

Skills, Experience and Attributes

 

Essential

  • Freight spend analysis experience
  • Freight network structure and customs process knowledge
  • Experience using RAMCO or other ERP software
  • Advanced Excel analysis experience
  • Good communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to work under pressure

 

Desirable

  • Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply or other supply chain related qualification
  • Aviation supply chain experience
  • Contract negotiation experience
