The Ballarat Group Practice (BGP) is a large regional medical practice committed to offering comprehensive healthcare to individuals and families within the Ballarat community. Our aim is to provide the highest possible quality of care by ensuring excellence in all aspects of our practice. BGP operates from 3 different locations across Alfredton, Ballarat and Wendouree.
The organisation currently employs over 50 staff and have in excess of 30 GP’s consulting over the 3 locations. We are an experienced and compassionate team that are actively involved in teaching medical students and GP Registrars. About the Role
This position will be a part time position working 30 hours per week from Tuesday – Friday.
You will be required to report directly to the General Manager and support the Senior Finance Officer to lead and guide the finance team. The Finance Manager will be responsible for supporting the business in achieving financial success. This role will produce financial reports, monitor capital expenditure, develop strategies and plans for financial goals for the organisation.
The role necessitates an understanding of legislative requirements, ensuring processes and policies are adhered to and the ability to achieve operational objectives for the business. There will be regular analytical review and interpretation of all financial information.
As the Finance Manager you will work closely with the Senior Finance Officer to support the finance team to work effectively and efficiently in their daily tasks.
It will also be the Finance Managers responsibility to keep up to date and improve where possible processes and procedures within the Finance Department.
What we need from you
A minimum of three years experience as a Finance Manager and you will need to show proven ability to lead and guide a successful team.
- Competence in decision making
- Ability to be able to communicate verbally and in writing
- Experience in MYOB and XERO packages
- Highly experienced in Microsoft Excel
- A broad understanding of the requirements of a small to medium business
- Leadership and team-building experience
- Ability to devise and review systems for operational efficiency and control
- Skills in business reporting
- Knowledge of relevant legislation
- Knowledge of employment conditions
- Commitment to continuing education
- Proficient computer skills are essential
- Tertiary qualifications in finance/accounting as well as demonstrated experience working in a similar position
