About the role

Europcar Australia is seeking an experienced Sales Trainer who is motivated to lead from the front in delivering Europcar Sales and Service programs with location teams.  The successful candidate will have a passion for supporting people in their development, and playing an integral role in helping them reach their potential.   As the role will primarily be working with our frontline team in key locations, a high energy and hands on approach will be required in coaching team members to achieve targets.

This opportunity will be located either in Melbourne, VIC or Sydney, NSW – extensive travel between these two locations is required.

Role highlights:                                                 

  • Lead and inspire cultural change, embedding a service based sales culture within the region
  • Drive ancillary sales & NPS performance to achieve targets via engagement and training and development of the location leadership team and frontline team members
  • Proactively identify opportunity areas and develop plans to drive improvement within the region
  • Support development of other Ancillary Coaches, working together to drive excellence in ancillary sales and NPS across Australia & New Zealand

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Delivery of Europcar service based sales program with location teams

  • Motivate and inspire location team members via focussed attention on developing their service based sales techniques

  • Lead by example with a hands on approach, working side by side team members on the counter, focussing on observations, providing feedback and coaching (including counter demonstrations, one on one & group trainings)

  • Ensure you support the location leadership team to facilitate monthly goal setting & reviews for both location performance and individual team members

  • Build plans with the Operations Managers and location leadership teams to address operational inefficiencies and support execution of plans

  • Provide regular reporting and analysis regarding performance to Operations Managers, location Leadership teams and the broader business

  • Identify and develop key team members as Ancillary Sales Champions where not in place at various locations

  • Provide feedback and recommendations around improvements to service based sales programs and initiatives, including content and delivery

  • Partner with Learning and Development and Operations Leadership teams to coordinate training schedules

To be considered for this position you should have:

  • 5+ years of proven performance in sales
  • Experience in training and/or learning and development is essential (retail, car rental, leisure or tourism industries preferred)
  • Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment would be an advantage
  • Outstanding leadership and influencing abilities, complimented by people managerial skills
  • Exceptional presentation skills
  • Proven ability to embrace and encourage employees to follow policies and procedures
  • Highly competitive with a strong desire to succeed
  • Demonstrated ability to work under tight deadlines and remain focused on the best outcome
  • Skills in building ownership and effecting delegation upwards to State Operations Managers / Location Managers
