ABOUT THE POSITION

Based at Beresford Estate in McLaren Flat, an exciting opportunity exists for a passionate and highly motivated Assistant Venue Manager to join our team in this full time position. This position is responsible for providing consistent and high quality standard of wine knowledge and service to customers, ensuring there is a strong and sophisticated representation of products, resulting in sales. As an ambassador, key responsibilities will include managing retail sales of products, tours, tastings and merchandise in order to maximise brand exposure and profits to meet Company objectives. You will also be responsible for  coordinating internal and external functions, events and weddings, as well as:

  • Ensuring functions are executed to plan by coordinating staff and allocating duties to them
  • Liaising with external stakeholders such as suppliers and caterers
  • Displaying outstanding customer service skills and leading from the front
  • Having a passion for driving Australian owned, locally crafted wine and sharing that enthusiasm with visitors
  • Having a strong wine knowledge, with an understanding of the South Australian region
  • The ability to multi-task and work well under pressure
  • Keeping track of stock
  • Presenting wine tastings and serving food
  • General housekeeping
  • General administration
  • Adhering to the Liquor Licence regulations

To be successful in this position, you will have a strong work ethic, hold an RSA Certificate, have a high standard of personal presentation and be available to work weekends.

Experience in hospitality is preferred; however, if you have a passion for locally produced beverage, studying tourism, hospitality or marketing and are looking to further develop your career then we would love to hear from you. The role will enable you to gain further knowledge, experience and contacts, particularly in the liquor and tourism industries and make an impact with a growing organisation with a career path through a creditable business.
