Group Accountant

Railtrain Holdings Group (RHG) is a market leader in providing full service, integrated solutions for rail operators and infrastructure owners nation-wide.

As a leading provider of rail workforce, training and rail infrastructure services, RHG is at the forefront of the industry. We develop bespoke service offerings and innovative client centric solutions.  

This position will undertake a wide range of general commercial, administrative and clerical duties to support Railtrain Group. The key purpose is to provide, accurate, timely and relevant statutory reporting and management information to ensure management meet statutory requirements, achieve strategic business goals as well as providing support to the Executive Committee.

In addition, the role  of Group Accountant, will undertake a range of commercial accounts tasks within agreed time frames, including advice and support to line management

What you need to be successful in this role 
 
  • Have a Minimum of 8 years Accounting experience 
  • Professional Accounting qualifications such as CA or CP 
  • Solid technical background, including consolidated reporting and statutory reporting experience 
  • Background in Chartered Audit 
  • Highly organised and structured 
  • Strong level of accuracy and attention to detail 
  • Ability to take responsibility and be accountable 
  • Able to work autonomously and as part of a broader team 
  • Ability to solve complex problems  
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
  • Strong time management and prioritisation skills 
  • Intermediate to advanced computer software skills, including Excel and other accounting packages 
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
