As the result of an internal movement, Austal is looking to recruit an experienced Office Administrator to join their In Service Support Department based in Darwin.

Reporting to the Senior Administration Officer, this position is responsible for providing general administrative support to the Darwin Office, which includes reception duties as well as other general administration and support tasks.

Key objectives & responsibilities include:

  • Manage the reception area in a professional and efficient manner, and be the first point of contact for visitors and clients coming in to the office
  • Answer incoming calls and direct queries to appropriate personnel as required
  • Manage all courier requirements, as well as incoming and outgoing mail
  • Provide a range of administrative support to the Austal business
  • Assist to prepare and format documents and reports in line with Austal standards
  • Data entry in Microsoft Word, Excel and document management systems
  • Other duties as required

Required Skills / Experience / Attributes:

  • Some experience within a similar role, working in a fast-paced office environment, is essential
  • Experience of, and the ability to manage, a busy switchboard and reception area
  • Sound knowledge of the MS Office suite
  • Initiative in identifying tasks you can assist with and in finding solutions to problems
  • Impeccable attention to detail
  • High level of organisation and the ability to prioritise your work
  • A professional image, who ensures an
  • The ability to provide an efficient and courteous service to internal and external customers and all other visitors or callers to Austal
