Located in the picturesque Dandenong Ranges, Puffing Billy Railway is Australia's premier preserved steam railway. Operating on the original mountain track from Belgrave to Gembrook, this century-old train offers a range of fun-filled experiences for visitors young and old.
A major tourist attraction, Puffing Billy Railway attracts large numbers of both local and international tourists each year and operates every day except Christmas Day, thanks to the tireless efforts of more than 400 volunteers and a small team of dedicated employees.
About the Opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity for a Customer Service Officer to join a small on-site team at Belgrave. This is a part-time position, alternating 2 days one week and 3 the other (37.5 hours minimum per fortnight) - flexibility can be negotiated with the successful candidate.
As a member of the Customer Service Team, this is a varied and very busy role that will see you providing exceptional customer service to all stakeholders who encounter Puffing Billy Railway. This includes via phone, emails, online and face-to-face interactions, and will include responding to enquiries, arranging bookings and promoting Puffing Billy Railway in a positive and enthusiastic manner.
This is a terrific opportunity for a friendly, customer service orientated individual who is looking for part-time hours and/or the chance to skip the daily city commute and work closer to home!
To be considered for this position you will have a background in a customer service, administration and/or phone booking environment. You must be a team player, flexible and willing to learn.
This is a very busy role that will require you to work across multiple things at any given time, so strong time management skills and a flexible approach to your work will be key to your success.
You will be outgoing, enjoys the buzz of a fast-paced role and is not easily flustered. Your interactions with your colleagues and customers will be highly professional and will demonstrate patience when communicating with overseas clients who may not speak English as a first language. 'Top notch' communication skills, both written and verbal, are what we are seeking. Applicants with languages in addition to English are encouraged to apply.
