Forensic Engineer

The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Forensic Engineer with local VIC experience to join our diverse Inspect & Investigate Section in our Mitcham Office. 

In this role, you will:

  • Provide forensic engineering services to varying clients, whilst building, maintaining and developing relationships with the clients;
  • Regularly visit building sites and conduct inspections and prepare technical reports;
  • Ensure that engineering designs adhere to Australian Standards and Structerre’s design philosophy, in addition to the Company’s technical procedures and standardised processes;
  • Provide technical advice to staff within and outside the Section, and to external clients, as required;
  • Interpret architectural drawings for structural design consideration, and extract relevant information

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for a client-focused individual to hit the ground running who has Forensic Engineering experience. Standout applicants must have previous experience in the Australian residential market, a ‘can do’ attitude and eye for detail in addition to demonstrating the following:

  • A completed Civil/Structural Engineering degree that is recognised by Engineers Australia;
  • 5+ years engineering experience;
  • Forensic engineering experience is a must;
  • A strong client focus and desire to deliver practical, sustainable and effective engineering solutions;
  • Provision of high-level technical expertise and advice;
  • On-site inspection experience and the ability to prepare technical reports from information gathered;
  • Effective client management and demonstrated customer service focus;
  • A valid Construction White Card;
  • A valid Drivers’ Licence.

The ideal person will have the ability to work autonomously and be business-savvy to support and contribute to Structerre's objective to build on our current capabilities in this area.
