Trainee Field Service Technician - TRS

Weatherford is one of the largest global services providers to the oil and gas industry with over 35,000 employees in over 100 countries. On behalf of our clients we run a wide range of Weatherford's portfolio of tools and services across conventional and unconventional onshore and offshore oil & gas projects.

We are seeking to employ Field Service Technicians for our Tubular Running Services (TRS) operations based out of Malaga in Perth, Western Australia. The role will require frequent travel to offshore and onshore locations to service our clients' requirements. We are always interested in candidates with previous TRS field experience, however we also recognise transferable skills and the value of the right attitude to work offshore.

Key duties and Responsibilities for these roles are as follows:

  • Prepare assets required for performing the job (Load-outs)
  • Rig up and rig down Casing and Tubing Running Equipment
  • Assist with function testing of TRS equipment
  • Operate TRS equipment at off shore and on shore locations
  • Perform general maintenance on mechanical, hydraulic and electronic components.
  • Carry out general housekeeping and maintenance duties as directed

    Field operations is on call out basis without guarantee of fixed roster. Employees may be required to assist with equipment preparation and load-outs at the Workshop between operations.

To be successful, you must be able to demonstrate the below:

  • Great mechanical aptitude and an understanding of hydraulic and mechanical systems
  • Fast learner, results oriented and independent with strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to adapt positively to change in priorities or work environments
  • Possess strong work ethic and willingness to help others
  • Computer literate and ability to navigate online operating systems and e-learning software
  • External qualifications in Mechanical/Hydraulic or Electronic applications preferred but not essential
