Recruitment Agency Services Coordinator

AHG Refrigerated Logistics (AHG RL) represents Australia’s only truly national temperature controlled supply chain network as a result of bringing together; Scott’s, Rand, Harris and JAT to form one single business.  With more than 60 years’ combined experience, AHG RL are leaders in refrigerated logistics, providing temperature controlled delivery and warehousing services to clients across Australia.

AHG RL are currently looking for a Recruitment Agency Services Coordinator to manage current supplier agreements with labour hire providers and negotiate new service agreements. This role will work closely with the Human Resources team and will specifically undertake projects for the Head of Human Resources.

Professional relationship building with our labour hire service providers will be pivotal to this role with a key focus and drive on ensuring labour hire staff in AHG RL are of a high calibre with performance levels and commitment to safety matching the business’ requirement and expectations.  

The key tasks of the role will include:

  • Negotiating rates of labour hire staff with rates under the relevant Award or Enterprise Agreement.  
  • Liaising with warehouse, driver and administrative functions of the business where labour hire support is required.
  • Liaising with recruitment agencies on matters including; breaches of internal policies and Road Traffic Legislation from labour hire staff, discrepancies in timesheets, casual and permanent requirements.
  • Negotiating of agency casual to permanent employee conversions with the agencies.
  • Work with AHG RL operations and Driver Trainers regarding gaps in labour, concerns relating to agencies and casual and permanent staff requirements.
  • Address incidents of damage by labour hire staff with the agency and negotiate compensation to cover costs.
  • Ensure all labour hire staff have completed online inductions of internal policies and procedures prior to commencement and conduct spot audits to ensure high levels of compliance are achieved and maintained.
  • Conduct a bi – annual service review on agency service agreements.
  • Undertake projects provided from the Head of Human Resources and Executive Leadership Team to minimise the financial impact of labour hire in the business whilst maximising the quality of candidates received.

To be successful you will need:

  • A strong ability to read and understand relevant Awards and Enterprise Agreements, or a willingness to learn.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
  • Sound judgement in decision making with the ability maintain a level-headed approach in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong organisational skills with an ability to prioritise workloads effectively.

The successful candidate will be an excellent communicator and a confident negotiator with competence in building rapport and establishing and maintaining positive professional relationships to achieve successful outcomes. This is a heavily communication focused role so above average people skills along with the ability to be firm and resolute will be required.
