The Role

We have an opportunity for a recent graduate with a good knowledge of Python to join our Transport Planning and Analytics team in Melbourne.

Supported by Senior engineers, the successful applicant will contribute to the delivery of projects including;

  • Programming and transport modelling
  • Carrying out detailed design work and documentation under supervision
  • Liaising supervisors, drafts-persons and other specialists on issues relating to the designated tasks and the delivery of designated work on packages and projects
  • Assisting in preparation of specifications, proposals and other documents under supervision

As a graduate employee at SMEC, you will have the opportunity to experience various engineering disciplines, allowing you to explore other aspects of the field that may be of interest as well as gaining an appreciation for other technical components of a multi-disciplinary project.

In addition, you will be given regular training on everything from consulting with clients to managing your time effectively.

About You

Suitable applicants will have/be:

  • Civil Engineering graduate with a good academic performance
  • Good experience of programming on Python
  • Appreciation of the technical, commercial, financial, and marketing aspects of engineering
  • Developed knowledge in analytical methods, tools and principles
