Duratec Australia is a construction contractor specialising in the protection and remediation of steel and concrete structures and considered one of the country's fastest growing privately owned companies that consist of twelve branches across Australia servicing the Mining, Oil and Gas, Marine industries, Government and Defence assets and Commercial Infrastructure including heritage buildings. 

ABOUT THE ROLE:

Due to an ever growing portfolio of awarded contracts within the Commercial, Industrial and Defence sectors, we are currently seeking a Graduate Project Engineer to join our growing team here at Duratec. Our graduate roles involve office based works in our Glen Iris office and some site based projects around the Victorian region. Reporting to the Project Manager, you will be primarily responsible for assisting the project team in all day to day operations and running of building and remediation projects.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Typically as a new graduate you will be mentored and supported in the following:

  • Planning and co-ordination of works, equipment and personnel
  • Preparing and submitting progress claims
  • Monitoring project costs
  • Co-coordinating direct labour workforce and sub-contractors
  • Programming and scheduling works
  • Quantity take offs
  • Preparing tender submissions

ABOUT YOU

  • Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Construction Management or similar
  • Previous experience in a similar role with 1-2 years’ experience is highly regarded but not a must
  • A strong sense of commitment, a willingness to learn
  • Sound verbal and written communication skills
  • The ability to work methodically and autonomously
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office
  • Willingness to travel to remote sites as required
  • Ability to prioritize and meet conflicting deadlines in a fast paced environment
