Part Time Financial Accountant

  • Surry Hills office
  • Part Time - 3 days per week on flexible basis
  • Newly established Sydney office

Our client is a rapidly growing venture capital firm who have recently launched a new fund in Sydney, successfully raising almost $100 million in capital from local family offices. They are focussing on the fintech sector and have already made a number of key investments.

This is a newly created role and will be reporting to the CFO based in United States.

Key duties include:

  • Preparation of management accounts and reports for each of the entities using Xero
  • Budgeting and forecasting
  • ATO compliance including BAS and PAYG lodgement
  • Monthly bank reconciliations, setting accruals, identifying and documenting intercompany activity and settlments and closing the books
  • Cash management including cash flow forecast
  • Accounts payable processing including setting up wires and coding expense reports
  • Manage payroll and FBT reporting
  • Preparation of financial statements and tax calculations
  • Support the CFO with work required for tax accountants, auditors and fund accountants
  • Supporting CFO in the Capital call process.
  • Other ad-hoc work as required and additional responsibilities to be added as the company and role grows.

To be considered for this role you will have a minimum of 3 years financial accounting or business services (chartered accounting) experience and be studying towards CA / CPA or qualified. Exposure to Fund Accounting / Venture Capital will be highly regarded but not essential. Excellent communication skills are essential in dealing with various stakeholders.
