Your organisation – Mackay Hospital and Health Service:

Mackay Hospital and Health Service has eight hospitals, two multi-purpose health services and two additional community health services that employ more than 2,700 staff. The Mackay district covers an area of approximately 90,000km2 and provides services to approximately 182,000 people in Bowen, Cannonvale, Clermont, Collinsville, Dysart, Glenden, Mackay, Middlemount, Moranbah, Proserpine and Sarina.

Your role:

Security Officers aim is to provide a safe, consumer focused environment by maintaining a highly visible presence as a deterrent to inappropriate behaviour, aiding in the detection of unacceptable activities, targeting asset protection to minimise loss or damage to property, and embracing a proactive risk identification and mitigation philosophy.

Your team:

MHHS Security Services comprises of a Security Officer Service, Occupational Violence Prevention Service, Care Support Officer Service and Access Administration Service. These facets of Security Services work supportively of each other, are committed to sustainable service delivery, adherence to the health services core values and work in unison to achieve a common goal of protection MHHS' people and assets. Security Services mission is to provide to all personnel, the necessary climate and mechanisms that will enable staff, patients and visitors at MHHS Facilities to go about their daily activities without fear or intimidation by preventing crime and disruption and protecting persons and property.

Conditions of employment:

In addition to any mandatory requirements specified on the Role Description, such as Professional Registration and Qualifications, and prior to being made an offer of employment, incumbents are required to demonstrate their immunity to all or some of the following Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD): Hepatitis B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella (chicken pox), Pertussis (whooping cough).
