Customer Service Officer

The Role

Mackay Regional Council is looking for an experienced Customer Service Officer to join our Customer Service team on a permanent full-time basis. This opportunity will be based out at our Mirani office. The role involves responding to resident queries in an accurate and timely way via multiple contact channels such as telephone, email and letters. In this role you will also be responsible for administrative tasks such as processing mail, ordering stationery and preparing reports.

 

 

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Excellent computer and telephone skills
  • The ability to display tact, discretion and integrity in dealing with confidential and sensitive information
  • Highly developed communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Demonstrated customer-focused work ethic
  • Cash handling skills are essential and previous QGAP experience is desirable
  • Experience within a contact centre, customer service or administrative environment or equivalent, with the ability to provide a high-level of personalised customer service.
  • Strong computer literacy including use of Microsoft Office applications

 

Mackay Regional Council provides competitive remuneration packages including attractive salary, hours, employee benefits and training and development opportunities.  

 

In return for your valued contribution you will be rewarded with;

  • Annual base salary range from $67,000 - $74,000
  • Up to 18% superannuation (conditions apply)
  • Choice of 4 or 5 weeks’ annual leave with 17.5% leave loading
  • 9 Day Fortnight roster
  • May be eligible for salary sacrificing options
  • Membership to lifestyle benefits program including corporate discounts
