Our Client

Our client is an iconic FMCG manufacturing business with a proven history of building strong relationships with suppliers, customers and local communities. They have seen consistent growth over recent years as a result of the consistent quality of their products and service.

Role 

Reporting to the Site R&D Manager. We are seeking a Food Scientist to join the R&D and Quality team based at this state of the art manufacturing facility.
 
The position supports multiple global and regional projects with an emphasis on new product development, product line extensions, product/process improvements, cost optimization, margin improvement, or other work as assigned. The incumbent will work in partnership with the other disciplines involved in the project team following the general principles of project management
 
Key responsibilities include;
  • Assist in developing and ensure seamless scale up of new products.
  • Develop new ingredients using sound scientific rationale.
  • Perform sensory evaluations and collate trial data, whilst applying food safety and quality know how.
  • Follow structured product development process to develop commercially viable products in line with the Brief to agreed time, cost and quality requirements.
  • Due diligence to Innovation Management process, procedures and documentation ensuring all necessary information is available. 
  • Generation of timelines taking into consideration all aspects of the project following the Stage Gate process as project technical lead, in partnership with Commercial Lead and Project manager.
  • Develop a focused implementation plan including agreed and approved documentation to ensure smooth handover to production and QA.
Skills Required
  • Degree qualified in food science/technology
  • 1-2 + years’ experience within a food product development or food science discipline.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability communicate with different stakeholders.
