Game Development Officer - Sunraysia

At the National Rugby League (NRL) we’re very proud of our game and the impact it has on players, fans, communities and all involved.

We are the governing body of Rugby League in Australia and we use the power of sport to drive positive social change in communities and raise awareness to reduce domestic violence and support mental health.

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a full-time Game Development Officer to join the team in Sunraysia, Victoria.

As an NRL Game Development Officer you will contribute directly to a number of the key initiatives of Rugby League's Game Plan including: Growing participation at all levels; Growing our fan base; Achieving deeper engagement and deliver community outcomes.

No two days are likely to be the same. One day you will be running a school clinic, the next attending a club meeting to update the committee on new NRL initiatives or convening a Gala Day in your area.

The successful candidate oversees the Local Club competition plus manage the NRL Game Development Participation programs such as League Stars.

The right candidate for this role will be self-motivated, energetic and enthusiastic about Rugby League. You will be passionate about making a positive difference to people's lives. This person will represent and share the NRL’s beliefs that we are United, Positive, Inclusive and Disciplined.

You will ideally have relevant tertiary qualifications combined with experience in the sports industry.

Applicants with Teaching, Junior Rugby League coaching, first aid and/or administration experience would be suitable as well as people with experience in program development and facilitation.

If you’ve managed a project, event and have budget management expertise we’d also love to hear from you. Given this position travels around to schools and clubs, a current drivers licence is required as well as a valid Working with Children’s Check.

Whilst we look for qualifications and experience, we also look for people who share the same beliefs as our organisation.

The NRL is a child-safe organisation committed to providing a safe place for all children to learn and have fun. We have strong recruitment procedures to make sure the safest and most suitable people work with us and require all applicants to undergo an extensive screening process prior to appointment, a process that will include, but is not limited to comprehensive reference checks, an identity check, “Working with Children” checks and/or national criminal history checks.

The NRL is a fast-moving organisation that has plenty to deliver so we may not always wait until an advert expires before reviewing applications. As a result, we recommend submitting your application as soon as possible as we don’t operate on closing dates.
