The role 

Your responsibilities will include providing customers with positive service experiences through knowledge of library collections, resources and procedures, professional conduct and presentation. You will provide customers with reference, reader advisory assistance and general information using library information systems and resources. You will provide assistance and guidance to library assistants and volunteers, participate in staff training and development and encourage a positive working environment.

Requirements 

To be successful in this role you must possess a Certificate III in Library and Information Services or other relevant field and demonstrated time management skills to achieve proficiency and effectiveness in managing conflicting priorities and meeting deadlines. You will have the ability to navigate and use databases, internet and online resources, social media and digital technologies such as tablets and eReader devices. You will hold or be willing to obtain prior to commencement, and be eligible for a Qld Working with Children Blue Card.

Work Location

Please note that whilst the current work location for this position is specified above, staff may be required to transfer to any of council's work locations with notice. Council currently has libraries located at Albany Creek, Arana Hills, Bribie Island, Burpengary, Caboolture, Deception Bay, North Lakes, Redcliffe, Strathpine, Woodford and a range of other facilities located throughout the region.
