Position Overview


Reporting to the Organisational Development (OD) Manager, the Learning & Development Advisor will assist with implementing learning & development initiatives as well as the HI Graduate Program, and the HI Talent Management Framework. In addition, the role will partner with the People & Performance function, and other business units, to deliver a range of projects across the employee lifecycle.


 

The incumbent will require the ability to work collaboratively, be highly organised and interested in developing their career in People & Performance. They will also adhere to HI’s CORE values and contribute to a positive workplace culture.


 

The People & Performance business unit is responsible for providing support to the business across the employee lifecycle as well as leading and implementing culture & engagement, learning & development programs and corporate strategy.


 


Key Accountabilities


  • Graduate Program: Lead the HI Graduate Program, including liaising with all business units to organise graduate placements and associated learning & development initiatives. Manage Graduate recruitment processes as required.

  • Talent Management Framework: Manage the administration, process improvement, compliance and staff training for the HI Talent Management Framework (Performance Management). Support the OD Manager to develop information for the Leadership Team, Managers and Employees as required.

  • Learning & Development: In collaboration with the OD Manager implement learning & development initiatives to meet the needs of HI’s workforce. Lead the business wide adoption of NSW Health’s Learning Management System (My Health Learning) to ensure compliance with mandatory training.  Manage the L&D calendar and scheduling of events. Research and coordinate suppliers to deliver learning & development events. Develop content for in-house learning & development initiatives as required.

  • Induction & Onboarding: Lead the coordination of the HI Welcome Induction program. Assist with development of a new employee on-boarding information/portal and Induction resources as required.  

  • Reporting and Analysis: Assist with L&D reporting and monitoring compliance for mandatory training. Contribute to Balanced Scorecard reporting and the development of Board Reports.

  • Employee Engagement: Develop internal communications, in conjunction with the Communications Team, to promote and drive engagement in learning & development initiatives. Support the development of initiatives to drive employee engagement and business culture.



Essential Requirements


To be considered for advancement please submit a cover letter addressing how you meet the essential requirements.


  1. Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Learning & Development or relevant field.

  2. Strong people skills and at least 3-5 years’ demonstrated experience in supporting employees with their learning & development.

  3. Excellent communication skills, with previous experience in facilitating workshops and training initiatives to a varied audience. 

  4. Demonstrated organisational skills of a high level with ability to effectively set priorities, meet deadlines, demonstrate flexibility and show initiative in a high volume professional environment.

  5. Sound experience with Microsoft Office Suite and strong attention to detail when developing documents, learning materials, presentations, reports and graphics.



NOTE:

  • This is a Full Time Temporary position initially for a one-year period, with the possibility to extend.

  • Health Infrastructure will be relocating to St Leonard’s in August 2020. Our new location will be within walking distance to St Leonard’s train station.
