Marketing Officer

We’re looking for a creative and experienced Marketing Officer to join our growing team. You’ll need to be ideas driven and results focused as we prepare to launch the biggest new art gallery outside a major city in Australia.

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Marketing Officer will work with both the marketing team and gallery team to implement the Marketing Strategy to launch the new HOTA Gallery in early 2021.

This will be a fast paced, exciting role and an opportunity to shape the marketing strategy for the biggest art gallery in regional Australia. You’ll be an experienced marketer who has a genuine love of the arts and you’ll relish a challenge (this role is not for the fainthearted.)

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Working collaboratively with the Brand and Marketing Services Manager and Director of Business Growth and Development and the HOTA Gallery team, the Marketing officer is responsible for implementing the overarching Marketing Strategy for the new HOTA Gallery that aligns to the HOTA Strategic Plan, Annual Business Plans and Brand Values.
  • Developing and managing budgets that have clear financial targets and timelines.
  • Coordinate the implementation of marketing campaign activity across print, digital, radio, TV, outdoor and other channels for HOTA Gallery exhibitions and programs ensuring high quality execution and timely delivery of material.
  • Be a key point of liaison for internal and external design teams with responsibility for briefing in design jobs.
  • Preparing reports and updates to the HOTA Gallery operations team and project heads
  • Managing external agencies including Publicity
  • Identifying and understanding trends and priorities of marketing for the Arts
  • Fostering a whole of organisation approach to marketing the Gallery
  • You will be a champion of arts and culture on the Gold Coast and the growing ambition of HOTA.   
  • Other duties as directed commensurate with the level of this position.
  • The responsibilities of this position require the incumbent to be flexible in their approach and there may be a requirement to occasionally work outside of and in addition to contracted hours.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in or equivalent experience in marketing, communications, project coordination or related discipline with demonstrated understanding of marketing principles and techniques preferably within the arts, cultural and tourism sector is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated success developing and delivering marketing campaigns across a range of media.
  • High-level project management skills including the ability to manage multiple projects and competing deadlines effectively.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective working relationships using persuasive skills to negotiate and work productively within a team environment. Including a proven ability to work with key staff of all levels and external stakeholders to develop, implement and achieve organisational goals.
  • An ability to work effectively under pressure in a high-profile work environment and manage concurrent projects.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with high level verbal and written communication.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and decision-making capability.
  • An ability to build and develop effective working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, at all levels.
  • An ability to plan, organise and prioritise tasks.
