Junior Planner

A rare opportunity to join this well established Australian iconic brand! We are seeking a full-time Junior Planner to join our Merchandise Planning team in a full time permanent capacity, to support the continued growth of our retail stores. Please note the role will initial be based in Mt Waverely, however we will be moving to Richmond in May 2020
  
Reporting to the Merchandise Planning Manager you will play a key role in supporting the merchandise function by effectively and systematically providing accurate information for allocation, planning, stock replenishment and trading purposes. With previous experience in this area, you will thrive in ensuring optimal sales and stock turn are in check.
Your day will consist of forecasting, managing stock levels within stores through to reporting and everything in between!

Key areas of focus will include:
  • Allocations and replenishment; passionate about having the right stock in the right place at all times;
  • Consolidations of key styles and sale stock between stores in line with a defined life cycle;
  • Forecasting sales for a category within the Merchandise Plan and managing the OTB in line with this;
  • Preparing weekly, monthly and ad hoc reporting;
  • Liaising with the Area Managers and store teams to address stock issues and identify opportunities;
  • Size analysis by category to define the buy quantities in line with store grade requirements;
  • Proposing changes to store gridding / product mix based on analysis of performance;
  • Developing new reporting tools and suggesting innovative approaches wherever possible.
  The ideal candidate will possess:
  • Previous junior planner experience at least 2 years in a fast paced retail environment;
  • Excellent analytical, numerical and forecasting skills;
  • Ability to sustain strong relationships with all stakeholders within the business;
  • High levels of energy, initiative and attention to detail;
  • Excellent communication skills - able to liaise at all levels of the business;
  • A team player approach with excellent interpersonal skills;
  • Sound operating knowledge of merchandise related computer systems - preferably AP21.
