People and Culture Officer

A rare opportunity has become available with Gidgee Healing for a full-time People and Culture Officer to join their team.

This fast-paced role requires an individual who can work with a high degree of integrity, autonomy and flexibility all with a positive and enthusiastic attitude.

The focus of this position will be to provide high quality human resource support and coordination with particular focus on recruitment, support to the Senior Management Team and as needed to employees of Gidgee Healing. The scope of this position includes recruitment, records and administration.


ABOUT GIDGEE HEALING:

Gidgee provides a broad range of primary health care services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people across the region; including GPs, Nursing; Aboriginal Health Workers/Aboriginal Health Practitioners; Allied Health professionals; Maternal and Child Health; and visiting Medical Specialists. Gidgee also provides a range of family-focused Mental Health and Wellbeing services, as the lead agent for both headspace Mt Isa and the Normanton Recovery and Community Wellbeing Service. Gidgee is currently experiencing a period of very strong organisational growth; expanding the scope and frequency of the services it provides across the Mt Isa and Lower Gulf regions.


SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Relevant qualifications in Human Resources or an associated filed or relevant experience within a similar position;
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with the Senior Management Team, employees and other key stakeholders;
  • Understanding of general human resources including recruitment, performance management and grievances;
  • Ability to interpret organisational policies and procedures and relevant legislation;
  • Ability to plan and prioritise own work and utilise initiative to deliver work activities and projects in a timely and effective manner;
  • Contribute positively within a team environment, demonstrating a friendly, positive attitude and willingness to learn;
  • Demonstrated accuracy, attention to detail and problem solving skills;
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and as part of a team and to maintain strict confidentiality;
  • High level computer literacy.
