About Santos

Santos is an Australian energy pioneer.  We have safely and sustainably discovered, developed and delivered natural gas to the people of Australia and Asia for more than 65 years.

With origins in the Cooper Basin, Santos has one of the largest exploration and production acreages in Australia and extensive infrastructure. Our strategy is centred on five core, long-life natural gas and LNG assets. These assets support our aim to be a leading Australian domestic gas supplier and a major LNG exporter supplying clean energy to Asia. As an Australian owned and operated business, we work in partnership with local communities, governments and our business partners to make natural gas an affordable and reliable energy solution for all Australians.

About the role

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Public Affairs team to support and drive the company’s brand, marketing, events, sponsorships and internal communications initiatives. The role requires working within a fast-paced environment, managing competing deadlines, with a motivated, professional and organised approach.

Reporting to the Manager Marketing, the Marketing and Communications Adviser will play a key role in supporting and executing the company’s national marketing, communications and brand strategies.

Accountabilities are delivered in line with the Santos company values and Santos Management System (SMS).  Key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Manage the planning, communication and implementation of company events and sponsorships, including concept development, stakeholder engagement and budget management
  • Support the Manager Marketing with the development, approval and implementation of internal communications plans and programs
  • Assist with ensuring the application of a clear process and structured approach to the planning and execution of marketing and communications activity is adhered to
  • Own and manage internal documents relating to the Santos brand and ensure brand integrity across all communications and activities
  • As a custodian of the brand, maintain and effectively roll out key communication tools, including templates for documents and presentations
  • Lead the development of videos and other digital materials to support marketing and communications campaigns
  • Support Manager Marketing with project and budget management and internal reporting
  • Work closely with relevant agencies to manage brand baseline analysis and marketing campaigns

About you

The successful candidate will be tertiary/degree qualified in Marketing, Communications or Journalism with demonstrable work experience in large-scale end-to-end event management, preferably for a national or multi-national business. You will have relevant examples you can share of how you have displayed strong interpersonal skills, established trusted relationships with complex stakeholders and managed external parties to achieve desired results.

To be successful in this role you will be highly professional, proficient in project management and a strong desire and ability to achieve exceptional results. While not essential, the ideal candidate will also have experience using Photoshop and InDesign tools as part of their role. If this sounds like an opportunity you want to be a part of then we want to hear from you!

This position will be offered on a 15-month maternity leave contract.
