Project Engineer

Our client is an innovative technology company gaining international traction for their successful High-Technology, interactive electronic devices.

They are at a critical point in their evolution, where they are seeking passionate likeminded individuals to share their vision and come on board to develop market leading products for the international stage.

 They are seeking an experienced Project Engineer to assist in the development of key products.   The Project Engineer will work closely with the Project Manager and R&D teams to plan, schedule, manage and track the development of new products and documentation.  

 Responsibilities:

  • Capture and plan project schedules and budgets
  • Work with internal engineers and external contractors to develop work packages
  • Track project activity against schedules and budgets
  • Provide ongoing project reporting to management team
  • Act as primary technical point of contact for partners and customers
  • Plan and run equipment demonstrations for partners and customers
  • Develop bills of material (BOM), source and order electronic components
  • Plan and coordinate PCB manufacture, assembly, bring up and testing
  • Assist with Quality Assurance testing
  • Actively promote and personally observe safe working practices. Use equipment and materials properly.

Education and Experience:

  • A degree in Electronics, Mechatronics Engineering or related or equivalent experience
  • Solid work experience with electronic and electronics manufacturing lifecycle
  • Solid work experience as a Project Engineer or Project manager / officer in a High Tech Electronic environment
  • Previous experience working with software development teams
  • Strong knowledge of electronics engineering manufacture
  • Working knowledge of Linux operating environment
  • Ability to read electronic schematics and mechanical drawings
  • Negotiation and communication skills (oral and written), including the ability to liaise at all levels in and out of the organisation
  • Preparation of project schedules, gantt charts and budgets.

Overseas travel will be required.
