Graduate Engineer

THE ROLE

Duties include carrying out survey design and setting out of works and projects, site inspections and investigations, scoping and estimating for projects to produce a concept plan through to a detailed design construction plan, providing technical input into the development of specifications for works, resolving minor related design problems during preparation of design plans and during construction and assisting in the supervision of construction of various engineering works. You will also assist with investigations in response to customer requests and internal departments. 
 

ABOUT YOU

- Be involved with civil engineering investigation, survey, design, drafting and will be providing detailed estimates to produce a concept through to a detailed design construction plan for projects within the Council’s capital works program.
- Assist in implementing capital works projects
- Assist with investigations in response to customer requests and internal departments under the direction of the Coordinator Design & Construction.
- Undertake the implementation of the Council’s traffic survey program
- Perform survey set out for construction works
- Provide technical input into the development of specifications for works
- Resolve design issues both during the preparation of design plans and during construction
