CareFlight is an Australian not-for-profit aeromedical organisation proudly voted as 2019’s most reputable charity. Our mission is to save lives, speed recovery and serve the community.

We operate from locations in NSW, northern WA and the Top End of the NT. Our specially trained doctors, nurses and paramedics use helicopters, aeroplanes, medi-jets and road ambulances to bring a hospital level of care to over 5,000 patients each year. We also deploy medical professionals to remote oil, gas & mining sites, both onshore and offshore.

 

The role

We currently have an excellent opportunity for an Events & Community Engagement Officer to join the fundraising team in the Top End.   

 

About you

To be successful in this role you will possess:

 

  • at least two (2) years’ experience in a field such as event management, marketing, sales or fundraising or project management;
  • the ability to manage a project according to agreed timelines and budget to achieve agreed outcomes;
  • a proven networking, negotiation and sales skills in a range of settings;
  • the ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders and develop a rapport with individuals from a wide range of backgrounds;
  • relevant tertiary qualifications and/or workplace-based experience in event management, fundraising, marketing, sales or fundraising, or project management;
  • the ability to generate ideas to inspire and engage stakeholders;
  • a “can do” team player attitude and able to work under pressure with minimal supervision.
  • proficiency in the Microsoft office suite and database systems (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook);
  • experience in building relationships and securing support from corporates and/or individuals;
  • strong verbal and written communication skills;
  • strong time management, organisational and planning skills especially when working under pressure and to strict deadlines;
  • be physically fit and able to carry and or manoeuvre event equipment; and
  • have a current Driver’s Licence.

 

The following will also be highly regarded:

 

  • First Aid Certificate.
  • Experience in public speaking or willing to learn.
  • Previous exposure to media – such as radio, television.
  • Ability to write and design marketing material.
