Who We Are
Legune Station is located 120km North east of Kununurra on 306,000 hectares of private land in the Joseph Bonaparte Gulf, bordering Western Australia and the picturesque Kimberley region. Legune Station runs 35,000 head of high-grade Brahman cattle and produces 4,000 Tonne per annum of quality hay with approximately 20 staff located at the station. The region boasts some of the best fishing in Australia and provides easy access to top attractions such as Lake Argyle, the Bungle Bungles and El Questro just to name a few!
About the role
Reporting to the Station Manager, you will liaise daily with the Station Manager to maintain water supplies to all livestock and the homestead. This role is full-time for the season from March-December 2020.
Key duties include:
- Driving 4WD vehicle approximately 200km per day with fuel pod, service equipment and tools on board.
- Maintain water supply to livestock and homestead and advise management of any problems with water supply.
- Repairs and maintenance of water troughs, water lines, fences, bore pumps and pull bores as required.
- Keep daily records of stock and homestead water levels & service intervals.
- Ability to prioritize stock and household water requirements.
- Regular maintenance and cleaning of vehicle, tools, and equipment to keep in good working order.
- May be required to assist with other station duties as required by management.
About you
The successful candidate will have:
- A current unrestricted manual drivers licence.
- Previous experience maintaining water supplies in a remote location.
- Experience with servicing solar bores & small motors desirable.
- Ability to work alone and unsupervised.
- Strong work ethic and enjoy problem solving.
- Ability to thrive in a remote location with irregular access to a town centre.
