Our Environment and Permitting Specialist role:

This position is within the People, Safety and Environmental team and supports the pipeline of upcoming projects at Northparkes. It is an opportunity for a proactive environmental professional to join a multi skilled interactive environmental team.

You will be responsible for supporting the Operations, Projects and Life of Mine Teams by providing environmental technical advice to manage operational risks in alignment with our ISO14001 system and enable the successful delivery of new environmental approvals.

You will assist to develop environmental approval strategies to support project study teams and coordinate environmental impact studies for the attainment of environmental approvals for existing and future operations within Federal, State and Local Government legislation.

This is an 18-months, fixed term role on a Monday - Friday roster reporting to the Environment and Farm Superintendent. Attractive employee benefits are available including subsidised private health cover, salary packaging options and the opportunity for increased superannuation contributions. Relocation is also available.

The successful applicant will possess the following essential criteria:

  • Bachelor or Post Graduate qualifications in Environmental Science, Environmental Management or equivalent
  • Demonstrated environmental  management experience in mining, construction or heavy industry
  • Experience in gaining timely mining project approvals within both State and Federal environmental legislation
