Asset Performance Analyst

The Role:

It's never been a more exciting time to be joining Navantia Australia, one of Australia's leading companies in the Maritime and Defence industry.  In 2016, Navantia Australia was awarded the AOR sustainment contract to build HMAS Supply and HMAS Stalwart, which is due to commence service with the Royal Australian Navy from mid-2020 and will remain in service for a minimum of 25 years. Navantia Australia will be responsible for the sustainment of both ships for their first five years of operation along with the Capability Acquisition and Sustainment Group (CASG) and form the AOR System Program Office (AORSPO). 

We currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Asset Performance Analyst to join the AOR Program team out of its Garden Island, Sydney office. In the role, you will be responsible for the establishment and ongoing management of a framework to quantify cost, risk and performance of the asset. The output of these systems will be utilised to assist the customer in making informed decisions throughout the lifecycle of the asset in alignment with the Asset Management principles of ISO 55001.

 

In this role, you will:

  • Develop, maintain and manage a Life Cycle Cost Model (LCCM) to consider both operational and support elements
  • Progress to achieve status within Navantia to provide guidance, mentorship and training on LCC and performance optimisation practices throughout the AOR enterprise
  • Undertake LCC analysis activities, including sensitivity, trade-off and “what if” analyses to enable decision making and address hurt points
  • Assist in technical investigations and root cause analyses for both product and system failures
  • Provide monthly reports providing status of LCC activities and any forthcoming recommendations
  • Support engineering change decisions, including the relationships between decision-making and the significance of how an engineering change would affect the LCC and platform performance
  • Maintain all required LCC and reliability documentation detailing the methodologies and processes for meeting the requirements
  • Develop, maintain and manage a Failure Reporting Analysis and Corrective Action System (FRACAS) for both product and process failure
  • Assist in the management and execution of an in-service LSA program including the conduct of ILS analyses such as FMECA, RCM, RCM backfit, MTA and OTA
  • Provide asset performance reporting through RAM and CBM analyses
  • Assist in maintaining all required technical and programmatic risk documentation detailing the methodologies and processes for meeting customer requirements

 

As the ideal candidate, you will have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Engineering or similar on-the-job experience
  • Proven skills in modelling or simulating physical systems in a business environment
  • Skills and experience in LCC or cost simulation methodologies and processes. ACEIT LCC software tool experience preferred
  • Skills and experience in performing RAM analyses
  • Preferred experience in the Industrial / ADF / Maritime Defence environment
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar cost modelling/simulation role
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Excel
  • Demonstrated ability to operate autonomously using initiative, sound reasoning, listening and decision making skills
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver results in a high pressure environment
  • Ability to communicate effectively internally and externally to build positive relationships at all levels of the business
  • Australian Citizenship holding or eligible for an Australian Government Security Vetting Agency (AGSVA) Defence Security Clearance to a minimum of Baseline
